Dyer's Double Fracture - Ouch!

We're sorry to see that Kieron Dyer could be out for the rest of the season.

No matter what team you support - no one likes to see an injury of this scale - this painful lashing out has caused a fracture of Dyers tibia and fibula bones.

We hope that Kieron sees a speedy recovery and for West Hams sake (£6m invested) that they can pick up the pieces and salvage their 2007/08 season. Not a good start at all! And as for England....

which leaves me to conclude... a little word to Joe Jacobson - better watch yourself sonny Jim, can't go around making tackles like that. "What goes around comes around"  thats what my ol' Grandad used to say... you've been warned Joe.

Last weeks poll results

Morning all,

Thought I’d quickly follow up on last weeks post and publish the poll results.

I asked whether Sol Campbell and David James should be called back into the England squad and a massive 87% of you said NO. This is clear indication that the MatesOdds community, at least, think the call back was a complete wrong'en!

Good old Maclaren eh?!

Steveo,

ps. is it time England look for a new coach? Someone with a bit more confidence in the younger players. If you're interested I’ll set up another poll to find out what you all think...

Is There a Future for English Football?

McClaren recalling ageing dinosaurs into the England squad has got me thinking...

So, Steve McClaren has recalled old Sol Campbell & David James into the England squad to prepare for next weeks friendly against Germany? I’m sorry but in my mind this presents a huge problem:

Can the number of young top quality English footballers really be that sparse? Can it be that bad we have to recall two players with a combined age of 69 for a friggin’ friendly? Oh dear… this not looking good!

It would seem there is growing discontent amongst the football echelon, as David Moyels has publicly expressed his concern “The quality has dropped and there is a much bigger and wider issue that needs to be addressed. Money has something to do with it. English football now has the money to buy the best players in the world, passports allowing."

He’s got a point… And it is my view that if Premiership football clubs continue to buy in the best players from all around the world then this, based on Moyels' view, could spell disaster for England squad selections in the not too distant future; as English players with top flight experience will dwindle… scary eh?
