You ask for it…you get it
We're getting great feedback from everyone who's using the site; and one of the key features you've been wanting to see is the ability to search for your mates whilst logged into MatesOdds. So our dev team have added a nifty little search box so you can do just that.
Now you can find your mates, add them as friends and start giving 'em some banter.
Soon we'll be adding more new features, so stay tuned folks...

Here's a quick round up...
MatesOdds has seen plenty of betting action over the last week, a few unpredictable sporting results have led to plenty of winning bets and of course a few losses too!
I for one went head to head with Matt earlier in the week and backed Arsenal at £20 evens to win the North London derby only to see the Young Guns get turned over by Spurs - I mean come on who saw that coming? (Nice one Matt.... I'm really happy for ya!)
There's plenty more action going on so if you haven't done so sign up for an account and start giving some banter, you never know someone may just challenge you!

We are very pleased to announce that MatesOdds Beta2 has now gone live.
If you've joined our mailing list you will receive a personalised email throughout the course of this week. There have been so many of you wanting to get involved we decided to split the email notifications into chunks (for load testing). If however you’re reading this post not having received your email (and cant wait) then head on over right now to set up your profile

In all honesty you may well stumble across a few minor bugs that need a good ticking off (come on we are still in Beta after all!) So if you do come across anything that looks a bit crooked please email us at <bugs[at]matesodds[dot]com> and we'll sort 'em out.

We received an interesting comment the other day, asking what the difference is between MatesOdds and the Betfair buy out of Flutter.com. The question is a good one so I decided to give our reply its own post, here it is…
MatesOdds is definitely not another BetFair clone … the big difference is that our users don’t just set their price they can also set their markets - this feature makes our app much more flexible.
Think of it as "the long tail" of person to person betting. The opportunity we see is that flutter.com came along when social networking was more or less non- existent. It was taken over by betfair.com before the site really got a chance to develop.
MatesOdds is a free to use service. We do not make our money from commission. (No ecommerce on the site, cash is transferred using paypal) We have developed MatesOdds to serve as a tool for an online community both real and virtual to make, track and settle bets online.
Our technology is also very different, for instance our GUI is much more advanced and tailored for a user base that use numerous social networking and Web 2 applications.
